Details of the Fully Funded Heidelberg University Gates Scholarship 2025 in Germany
The Heidelberg University Gates Scholarship is a fully funded doctoral opportunity funded by the Gates Foundation for international students seeking to study in Germany.
The HEIDELBERG UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL are looking to recruit a PhD student for a Gates Foundation funded project determining the pharmacokinetic properties necessary for insecticide uptake in the major malaria vector Anopheles gambiae.
The appointee will join the Parasitology Unit in the Centre for Infectious Diseases, Heidelberg and be affiliated with Prof Carsten Hopf at the Center for Mass Spectrometry and Optical Spectroscopy, Mannheim.
Students will also work closely with other partners as part of a consortia for novel insecticide discovery, specifically with Dr David Hong, University of Liverpool, UK.
The Gates Scholarship at Heidelberg University is tuition-free and will offer a PhD salary of 65% TVL-E13 scale worth (€4100 to €6000 gross monthly salary).

To be considered for the Gates Scholarship at Heidelberg University, you must:
- BSc and MSc or equivalent in a relevant field
- Possess effective English communication, both written and verbal
- Have experience working both in a solo setting and as
part of a team - Have the ability to problem solve and design experiments
- Be able to work independently after appropriate training
